Final conclusions

These are the conclusions of every author of this blog:

The influence of our language takes great importance when we are learning a new one; however, it is important to remember that, although they have similarities, they are still different languages. For that reason, it is so important to know our language, for example Spanish is usually pronounced as it is written, but as we saw earlier, English does not work the same. Therefore, it is not uncommon to see a native Spanish speaker trying to pronounce all verbs ending in ed in the same way, as the speaker is making a negative transfer of pronunciation that comes from their language to a different one.

Finally, it is always important highlighting two very easy things that we always forget. First, we ought to order our priorities, what are we really looking for when we are learning a language? That people think we speak great (that is awesome too) or we want to be able to communicate and discover other cultures, and therefore learn from them; second, I would like to be able to create an environment where my students feel safe when speaking, because thanks to that they will be able to practice more and will be able to discover what mistakes they are making. (Emily).

The inflections of the Spanish language can affect the pronunciation of English as a phonetic language. Spanish has a different set of vowel sounds and stress patterns than English, which can cause difficulty for Spanish speakers when learning English pronunciation. Spanish speakers may struggle with the English "th" sound, as well as differentiating between "Z" and "s" sounds. However, with practice and familiarity with English phonetics, Spanish speakers can improve their pronunciation and effectively communicate in English. Overall, understanding the differences in inflection between Spanish and English is crucial for achieving accurate pronunciation in English.

In English, the "Z" and "S" sounds are distinct and have different pronunciations. However, in Spanish, the "Z" and "S" sounds are pronounced the same way. Additionally, Spanish has a more consistent and phonetic sound system compared to English, which has many irregularities and exceptions.(Joseph).

It is hard to be a good speaker without committing an error. The process of learning requires of producing this kind of problems. This happens to every person who is learning a new language because it is something new. It is obvious that you will know the rules of that language until you are exposed to it. It is normal that you commit those errors, but it is not right. If you have identified some of these errors on your English skills, you must start working on it.

Finally, language is complex, and it is obvious that correct all these errors will take time. You have exercises to start improving those problems. Despite the time that you will require to fix those error, it is important to start. Recognizing your problems is a big step to improve. Remember, it is normal to have these problems but that does not mean that is good. Improving your language, and you will have a better communication. (Josue).
